Sirius Day Spa is a true small business success story and I am excited to highlight it in my first edition of SRQ Business Spotlight.
Karen Medford, and her husband Rich, opened their first Sirius Day Spa in Lakewood Ranch in 2018 and it quickly became a favorite spot to relax for SRQ residents. The following year, they opened a second location at University Town Center.
And what not to love about Sirius Day Spa! It is such a unique wellness place where you can experience multiple services and amenities conveniently in one location.
Their members have been anxiously awaited the day the spa reopened their door. Sirius Day Spa is famous for its Serenity Lounge, and let me tell you – that lounge is absolutely everything you need after a long day or just because you deserve it – imagine the room with luxurious electric massage lounge and guided meditation videos. The best part – after relaxing time at the Lounge you can have other beauty/wellness treatments done right in the same place: you can choose from facial and body treatments, microdermabrasion and eyelash extension, massage, hair color and hair cuts, keratin treatment, manicure and pedicure, tinting and waxing services, all that without walking outside.
What inspired me to open my own business?
Karen: I have been in Medical sales and although I loved it, I was never home to see my family. In my travels, a spa was my only escape but I only wished there was one place to get everything done – hair, nails, mind, and body. When we moved to Lakewood Ranch, I saw a need here for this concept, and I was in love with the fact that I could see my kids❤️ With the amazing support of my husband, we opened Sirius Day Spas.
How do I define success?
Karen: Balance for sure. Success to me is to be able to balance work and family life. That is true happiness and happiness = success in my book ❤️
Favorite restaurants in town?
Karen: All of them haha. But seriously, we love going out to eat. We love feeling connected to the community. I could go on but we do love Hana Sushi, the Granary, Lobster Pound, Linger Lodge, Libby’s, and the Grove. ❤️
Sirius Day Spa just reopened both locations after being closed for almost 2 months due to Covid-19 and “Stay at Home order”.
