Meet Stephanie Lomazov, the heart and soul behind Neuro Speech Therapy.
Stephanie is a specialist in treating adults with neurological impairments from stroke, acquired brain injury, brain tumors, and a spectrum of other complex neurologic diagnoses that impact speech, language, cognition, and swallow function.
Her journey into speech-language pathology was sparked by a simple yet profound belief: everyone deserves tailored care, particularly when confronting neurological challenges. This belief led her to establish Neuro Speech Therapy, dedicated to bringing top-notch treatment directly to her patients.
Stephanie's therapy sessions are designed to fit seamlessly into your life, whether that means in-office visits, convenient telehealth sessions, or even mobile therapy—wherever you need support, she's there.
Having had the pleasure of interacting with Stephanie on multiple occasions, I've always been struck by her genuine warmth.
Stephanie has been an active and valued member of our community for years. From advocating for Aphasia Awareness to serving on the Aphasia Community Center Board and establishing Neuro Speech Therapy, a specialized practice focusing on Aphasia Therapy, she's truly making a difference. Not only that, but Stephanie goes above and beyond to support the elderly in our community, whether it's through her work in local hospitals, teaching classes at various nonprofits, or securing grants to provide specialized therapy for those facing Parkinson's disease in Sarasota. Stephanie's dedication to improving lives is evident in all she does, and we're lucky to have her making such a positive impact in our community.
Stephanie's voice was not only heard but recognized! She recently earned some well-deserved accolades, including the prestigious American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Distinguished Early Career Professional Award.

What inspired you to start your own business?
I saw an underserved population in our community when it came to intensive therapy after strokes and traumatic brain injuries. I have a passion for providing patients with a more customized and specialized approach and it led me to founding Neuro Speech Therapy to do just that.

What makes your business unique?
We have a specialty in treating Aphasia with a modified intensive approach. Our patients receive significant time with their therapist and we prioritize compassion and communication with families alongside treating our patients.
What product/services do you offer?
Speech Therapy for the Adult Population
What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else?
Helping a young family member with their speech ignited a passion for this work. I have been privileged to gain a wide variety of experiences from treating in the south side of Chicago, in the school system, at some of the best rehab hospitals in the country, and utilizing my education, experience, and the latest evidence-based therapy techniques to provide speech therapy that helps patients regain their ability to communicate.
What has been your biggest success to date?
Most recently I worked with a patient who could only use 10 words after a serious stroke, and now is able to intentionally communicate with approximately 150 words.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Navigating a full caseload while ensuring new patients have the opportunity to be treated.
If you could go back to the beginning knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?
We would have worked with EXCELLence Performance sooner to get our website set up and start marketing online.
What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start a business?
Make sure you have a team! Whether they work with you, for you, or you for them, having mentors and help is essential to building a successful business.
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I was a professional dancer and used my dance experience as part of my thesis on how it impacts the brain and can be a tool to improve language and cognition.
What do you love the most about Sarasota?
I would say I love the small-town community feel within our community and also really enjoy and cherish our beach, which is one of the best in the country.
